Spring

As spring water temperatures rise, largemouth move from deeper winter holding areas toward shallow flats, points, cover, and spawning areas. Start with slower, controlled presentations early in the season, then transition toward more aggressive reaction baits as fish become active.

Summer

As summer water temperatures rise, largemouth settle into predictable patterns around vegetation, shade, structure and deeper water. Cover water aggressively during active feeding periods, then slow down and target deeper holding areas when the bite gets tough.

Fall

As water temperatures cool, largemouth feed aggressively on roaming baitfish and begin transitioning from summer structure toward shallower flats, points and cover. Use faster-moving search baits to locate active fish, then slow down with jerkbaits and controlled presentations when bass become less aggressive.

Winter

As water temperatures fall, largemouth become less active and often hold around deeper structure, drop-offs and remaining cover. Slow down your presentation, stay in the strike zone longer and use subtle, controlled movements to trigger reluctant cold-water fish.
